There is a stock “closing phrase” used in standard sales, that will slow down or stop a potential sale dead in its tracks…

  • If I could show you a way to… (you fill in the rest)?

For most people on the receiving end, it can sound as if there is a sales pitch coming..

Especially if it’s used early in a conversation.

So their defences go up!

However… The concept of the question is good…

It’s just that it needs rephrasing to be effective and at the same time eliminate the potential for tension.

Here are 2 examples of the rephrase;

  • If there was a way you could…
  • If you were able to…

It’s then followed with a positive end result based on what you’ve been told in the Discovery Stage, and ending with a Tag-On question, such as…

  • … increase your sales and get the money you’re looking for so you feel better about yourself … Do you look for ways to do that?

Now say it out loud, or modify it to suit your own situation and say it out loud!
